Cameron Stephens Mortgage Capital Ltd. (“CSMC”) is a leading non–bank lender with offices in Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. The company was founded in 2004 and currently has a committed loan book of $2.4 billion, with $1.5 billion currently funded. Seventy–five percent of the loans are funded by institutional investors, and the remaining twenty–five percent of the loans are funded by private investors. CSMC specializes in commercial real estate loans, particularly land development loans, construction loans, and commercial mortgages, and employs 50+ people.

CSMC launched a new fund, Cameron Stephens High Yield Mortgage Trust (“CSMT”) in November 2019 to keep up with the growing demand for private capital in the commercial mortgage space. CSMT invests in a diverse range of asset classes, however its focus is on leveraging CSMC’s expertise in the residential development and construction sectors. CSMC intends to raise $100 million in CSMT over the next 12 months. CSMC also has a Mortgage Investment Corporation (“CSMIC”) with an outstanding loan balance of approximately $57 million.

Cameron Stephens Equity Capital Ltd. (“CSEC”) is a subsidiary of CSMC that was founded in September 2021, with its primary focus being on forming strategic partnerships with key residential developers in the GTA.

Key Accountabilities:

• Assist the VP in developing and implementing a capital raising strategy for both CSMT and CSEC
• As a Dealing Representative, onboarding new CSMIC, CSMT, and CSEC investors; this will involve meeting investors, explaining the funds/deals in detail, and preparing Application, Subscription, and other relevant forms for each investment
• Implement capital raising initiatives with new and existing institutional and retail investors
• Conduct market research and analysis of investment funds, distribution channels, etc. in support of CSMC’s and CSEC’s investment growth strategy
• Attend investor presentations and participate as required
• Attend industry events and conferences as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance, or equivalent
  
• Must have passed the Canadian Securities Course, as this is required to become licensed as a Dealing Representative with the Ontario Securities Commission for CSMC’s funds and CSEC’s deals
• 2–5 years of relevant work experience in the real estate lending and/or investment management industries, with a focus on investor relations and capital raising
• Ability to successfully execute an outbound calling program for investor outreach
• Existing institutional and retail investor relationships are preferred
• Superior communication skills (written and verbal) and keen attention to detail
• Expertise in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, and PowerPoint
• Able to apply analytical and critical thinking skills under pressure and prioritize workload
• Desire to build and enhance processes that result in operational efficiency
• Keen sense of organization, planning, and prioritizing; uses structured work methods, establishes priorities, sets deadlines, and manages time effectively
• Must have a strong customer focus; helps to develop and implement strategies according to evolving client needs
