We are seeking an Associate that plays a critical role in both originating new commercial mortgage transactions and managing an active loan portfolio. This dual-function position bridges front-end deal execution and post-funding account management. The individual is responsible for financial analysis, underwriting, documentation, and managing internal workflows across the entire loan lifecycle, ensuring deals are executed with discipline, precision, and a client-first approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deal Intake & Pipeline Management
    • Conduct intake for new transactions within 24 hours, providing initial financial models and written recommendations.
    • Prepare Deal Qualification Meeting (DQM) applications and track deal statuses in Salesforce.
    • Maintain and update data deal with precision and completeness across systems, primarily Salesforce.
  2. Deal Structuring & Credit Committee Preparation
    • Structure deals and prepare financial models under the guidance of the Relationship manager.
    • Prepare and update A/B Term Sheets and draft Letters of Intent (LOIs) for borrower execution (capacity permitting).
    • Assemble materials for the Internal Credit Committee (ICC) and incorporate feedback.
    • Conduct market analysis and review Borrower Personal Net Worth Statements and project-level data.
  3.  Due Diligence & Underwriting
    • Lead collection of borrower due diligence and KYC documentation in accordance with AML legislation.
    • Finalize underwriting models and complete the underwriting checklist.
    • Draft comprehensive Loan Summaries based on approved terms.
    • Respond to investor questions and documentation requests from Credit team.
  4. Documentation & Funding Preparation
    • Prepare Commitment Letters and Funding Packages (including fee schedules etc.).
    • Coordinate and track revisions, approvals, and borrower sign-off.
    • Ensure complete and accurate Salesforce records, including CSSL and investor fields.
  5. Post-Funding Account Management
    • Oversee a portfolio of active loans post-funding.
    • Prepare annual covenant packages (PNW, Financials, Rent Rolls, OpEx) and quarterly/monthly loan performance updates.
    • Draft memos and amendment letters.
    • Maintain DSCR compliance tracking and covenant monitoring.
    • Communicate proactively with borrowers and flag issues to the Relationship Manager and Credit.
  6. Amendments, Extensions & Renewals
    • Prepare Amendment Requests and Letters, Extension/Renewal Requests and Letters, and associated Funding Packages.
    • Initiate contact with borrowers 120 days ahead of loan maturity.
    • Ensure full documentation is obtained and reflected in Salesforce.
  7.  Communication, Reporting & Leadership
    • Attend weekly team meetings fully prepared with updated deal status.
    • Submit “Must-Win” priorities weekly to Relationship Manager.
    • Demonstrate proactive ownership of files and internal coordination.
    • Engage in lead generation and meeting coordination where capacity allows.
