Steve Cameron is President and Chief Operating Officer of Cameron Stephens, where he leads the firm’s corporate strategy and overall operations. Under his leadership, the company has grown to $3.6 billion in assets under management—doubling in size since 2021. With a deep passion for real estate development and a strong grasp of the capital markets, Steve specializes in structuring creative and flexible financing solutions tailored to the needs of top-tier residential builders and developers across Canada.
Known for forging strong, long-term relationships, Steve brings a people-first approach to both business development and leadership. His strategic vision and ability to attract and retain exceptional talent have been instrumental in driving the firm’s continued growth and success. He is recognized for his ability to listen, negotiate, and execute — a rare mix that’s earned him the trust of clients and colleagues and investors alike.
Steve began his career at Xerox Canada as a Business Solutions Sales Representative before transitioning into the real estate industry as a Residential Mortgage Underwriter at Home Trust. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph.
Steve also spent the first 10 years of his career as the President and co-founder of The Friends For Life Foundation, a Toronto-based not-for-profit organization that raises funds and awareness for the SickKids Oncology Unit and Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Today he spearheads the Cameron Stephens Cares charitable initiative which focuses on three main platforms: Housing, Humanity, and Hospitals – all three of which is deeply passionate about. Whether he’s leading a boardroom, building a capital stack, or hosting a fundraising gala, Steve brings energy, creativity, and heart to everything he does.
Steve is licensed as a Principal Broker in Ontario, a Submortgage Broker in British Columbia, and an Associate Broker in Alberta.
